Terms of Service
Effective August 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Upper East Enterprises LLC ("Tribe," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Tribe mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or selecting an option that states you accept these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Important: Tribe is only for adults who are at least 18 years old. Online and in-person interactions carry risk. Tribe does not guarantee another member's identity, statements, intentions, compatibility, or conduct.

1. Eligibility and accounts
You may use Tribe only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract.
- If you create or use a dating profile, you meet the community eligibility criteria displayed during signup and truthfully answer Tribe's eligibility questions.
- You are permitted to use the Service under the laws that apply to you.
- You have not been removed or blocked from Tribe, unless we have expressly authorized your return.
- The information you provide is truthful, current, and belongs to you.
Your account is personal to you. You must not impersonate anyone, create an account for someone else without authorization, share your account, or create another account to avoid a restriction. You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping your sign-in methods and devices secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
Tribe is a Jewish dating community for adults. Dating-profile eligibility may include community criteria displayed during signup. You may not create or submit a dating profile for anyone under 18. Features and availability may differ by location, device, operating system, account status, or app version.
2. What Tribe provides
Tribe provides tools for creating a profile, discovering and expressing interest in other members, matching, messaging, making introductions, and using related community features. Recommendations and search results are based on available information, preferences, product rules, and other signals. They are not promises of compatibility, interest, availability, or any particular result.
Tribe provides matching technology, but it is not a background-check provider or a mental-health, religious, legal, or other professional adviser. We do not arrange or supervise dates and are not a party to communications, meetings, relationships, or transactions between members.
Profile review and photo-verification features are limited safety tools. They do not establish a member's identity, age, background, intentions, or trustworthiness, and they are not a substitute for your own judgment.
If matchmaker features are available, a dater controls whether to connect with a matchmaker. A connected matchmaker may see activity and outcomes related to their suggestions. A matchmaker must have permission or another lawful basis to provide another person's information, must keep it accurate, and must not create a profile for, impersonate, or submit information about a minor.
Some invitation and referral features create shareable links containing limited profile or referrer information. Anyone with a link may be able to view and reshare it. Use these features only for their intended invitation or introduction purpose and do not misuse another person's information.
TRIBE DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON ITS MEMBERS.
3. Safety and interactions
You are responsible for deciding whether and how to interact with another person. Use reasonable precautions, including:
- Anyone capable of identity theft may also be able to falsify a dating profile. There is no substitute for acting cautiously when communicating with a stranger.
- Do not send money or financial information to another member.
- Keep early conversations on Tribe. Do not include your last name, email address, home address, phone number, workplace, or other identifying information in your profile or initial messages.
- Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or tries to trick you into revealing it.
- For an in-person meeting, choose a public place, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transportation, and leave if you feel unsafe.
- Use the in-app report and block tools when appropriate. Contact local emergency services if anyone is in immediate danger.
We encourage reports and may take action, but we cannot guarantee that we will identify every false statement, unsafe person, unlawful act, or Terms violation. You assume the risks inherent in online and in-person interactions to the extent permitted by law.
4. Rules of conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- Break the law, facilitate unlawful conduct, or violate another person's rights.
- Threaten, stalk, bully, harass, intimidate, defame, exploit, or promote hatred or violence.
- Post or request non-consensual intimate material, pornography, sexual services, compensated or "sugar" dating, trafficking, or other sexually exploitative content or conduct.
- Sexualize, exploit, groom, endanger, or solicit a minor, or create, possess, request, or distribute child sexual abuse material. Our Child Safety Standards are incorporated into these Terms.
- Impersonate another person; misrepresent your identity, age, relationship status, intentions, or affiliations; or use photos that do not genuinely depict you, including deceptive AI-generated or materially altered images. Ordinary cropping, resizing, compression, or basic edits are allowed if they do not misrepresent you.
- Defraud or deceive anyone, solicit money, run a romance or investment scam, advertise, spam, recruit, or use Tribe primarily for commercial purposes.
- Upload or disclose another person's private information, likeness, contacts, or communications without the rights or permission needed to do so.
- Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.
- Introduce malware; probe or bypass security; interfere with the Service; scrape, crawl, index, copy, or monitor the Service through automated means; or access data or accounts without authorization.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Help anyone violate these Terms or evade a report, block, suspension, or other safeguard.
If you provide information about another person through a contact, invitation, introduction, or matchmaker feature, you represent that you have the right to provide it and will use it only for the feature's intended purpose.
Non-consensual intimate images: Anyone depicted in an intimate image or video shared without their consent—or an authorized representative—may request its removal, including if the depiction was digitally created or altered. A Tribe account is not required. See our Intimate Image Removal Notice for the request process and the information to include.
5. Your content
"User Content" means photos, profile details, prompts, messages, reports, suggestions, and other material you submit through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to submit it and that it complies with these Terms.
You grant Tribe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license, sublicensable only to service providers acting on our behalf, to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical formatting, display, transmit, and otherwise use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, improve, secure, and enforce the Service. This license ends when your User Content is deleted from our systems, except to the extent that content has been shared with others and remains in their accounts, is retained in backups for a limited period, or must be retained for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution as described in our Privacy Policy.
One-to-one messages are delivered to their recipients, may be reviewed as described in Section 6, and may be retained or shared by recipients. Use judgment about what you send. This license does not permit Tribe to use one-to-one messages in advertising.
Other members' content belongs to them. You may use it only within the Service and only for personal, non-commercial purposes consistent with these Terms. Do not copy, publish, or misuse it.
If you voluntarily send us product ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, and without an obligation to treat them as confidential.
6. Moderation and enforcement
We may use automated tools and human review to investigate reports, review accounts and content, enforce these Terms, and protect Tribe and its members. We may remove content, limit visibility or features, preserve evidence, warn a member, or disclose a matter to appropriate providers or authorities when we reasonably believe it is appropriate or legally required. We cannot review every account, message, or interaction, but we moderate the Service and act on reports and unlawful content as required by law.
We may suspend, block, restrict, or terminate an account or access to any part of the Service, with or without prior notice, when we believe the action is appropriate to enforce these Terms, comply with law, investigate potential misuse, prevent fraud or ban evasion, or protect the safety, integrity, or wellbeing of Tribe, our members, or others.
We may withhold details about an enforcement decision where disclosure could compromise safety, privacy, security, an investigation, or our anti-abuse systems. If your account is blocked, you may contact support to request a review. Reviews are conducted at our discretion, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. Enforcement does not limit your right to request account or data deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Paid features, subscriptions, and promotions
Tribe may offer subscriptions, boosts, and other paid or promotional features. The price, duration, included benefits, billing period, renewal terms, and any trial terms shown at checkout are part of these Terms. Availability and benefits may differ by platform, location, or account.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by that store and generally renew automatically unless canceled before the store's renewal deadline. Manage or cancel a subscription through the account settings provided by the store. See the official instructions for Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting your Tribe account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the store or applicable law provides otherwise.
Refunds
Except where required by applicable law or an app store's rules, purchases are final and non-refundable. Refund requests are handled under the applicable store's policies and any refund policy presented at purchase. Suspending, blocking, or terminating an account does not by itself create a right to a refund.
Boosts and rewards
A boost is a time-limited feature intended to increase profile visibility; it does not guarantee views, likes, matches, messages, or dates. Promotional credits, trials, referral rewards, and complimentary benefits have no cash value, are non-transferable, may expire, and may be subject to eligibility and qualification requirements shown with the offer. We may correct, withhold, or revoke a promotion obtained through error, duplicate accounts, manipulation, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
8. App license and ownership
Subject to these Terms and the rules of the platform from which you obtained the app, Tribe grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use of the Service. Any family-sharing or similar rights are governed by the applicable platform rules.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other materials other than User Content, is owned by Tribe or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, copy, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any part of the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
9. App stores and third-party services
Your download and use of the app may also be governed by the terms of Apple, Google, your wireless provider, or another platform or service. You must comply with applicable third-party terms. If you obtained the app through Apple's App Store and Tribe has not provided a separate custom license through App Store Connect, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies. If an applicable platform license conflicts with these Terms, the platform license controls to the extent that it applies.
The Service may contain links to, integrate with, or rely on services we do not control. Their terms and privacy practices apply to your use of them. To the extent permitted by law, Tribe is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, content, products, or practices of third-party services.
Additional terms for Apple App Store users
If you obtain or use the app through Apple's App Store, you and Tribe acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Tribe only, not Apple. Tribe, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. These Terms do not provide usage rules that conflict with Apple's applicable Usage Rules, which Tribe acknowledges it has had the opportunity to review.
Your license is non-transferable and limited to use of the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control and as permitted by the Usage Rules, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Tribe is responsible for maintenance and support services for the app as required by these Terms or applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Tribe is responsible for any app warranties to the extent they have not been effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Tribe is responsible for any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a warranty failure.
Tribe, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product-liability claims; claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and claims under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar laws. Nothing in these Terms limits Tribe's liability beyond what applicable law permits. If a third party claims that the app or your possession or use of it infringes intellectual-property rights, Tribe, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by the United States Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app, including your wireless-data-service agreement.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they apply to the app. When you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary. Questions, complaints, or claims about the app should be directed to Tribe using the contact information in Section 18.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information and the choices available to you. Please review it before using the Service.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TRIBE DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, AVAILABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.
TRIBE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT ANY MEMBER IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE OR WILL ACT SAFELY OR LAWFULLY. TRIBE MAKES NO WARRANTY ABOUT MATCHES, COMPATIBILITY, RELATIONSHIP OUTCOMES, USER CONTENT, OR OFF-SERVICE CONDUCT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRIBE AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, THESE TERMS, ANOTHER MEMBER, USER CONTENT, OR AN OFF-SERVICE INTERACTION, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF TRIBE AND THE PARTIES LISTED ABOVE FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including where applicable for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury caused by negligence. Your jurisdiction may give you additional rights.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tribe and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your User Content, your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service, your violation of another person's rights, or your material breach of these Terms. We may control the defense of a covered claim, and you agree to cooperate reasonably. We will not settle a claim in a way that admits wrongdoing by you or imposes non-monetary obligations on you without your consent. This section does not require you to indemnify anyone for their own unlawful conduct, negligence, or willful misconduct.
14. Account suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account in the app or through the process at tribejewishdating.com/delete-account. Account deletion is separate from subscription cancellation; cancel any active subscription through the applicable app store.
We may take the enforcement actions described in Section 6. When access ends, the license granted to you under these Terms ends and you must stop using the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive, including provisions concerning ownership, feedback, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, disputes, and general terms.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to any obligations relating to paid benefits and applicable law. We may also update these Terms. We will post the current version with its effective date and, when required by law or when changes are material, provide additional notice or request renewed consent. Updated Terms apply prospectively from their stated effective date. If you continue using the Service after updated Terms take effect, you accept them to the extent permitted by law; otherwise, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and disputes between you and Tribe are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer law, claims must be brought in a state or federal court located in New Jersey, and you and Tribe consent to those courts' jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
If the law where you live gives you mandatory consumer protections, governing-law rights, or access to local courts that cannot be waived, these Terms do not take those rights away. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
17. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Child Safety Standards, and any terms shown for a paid feature or promotion form the entire agreement between you and Tribe about the Service, except for applicable app-store terms. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the rest will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Section headings are for convenience only.
You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law, provided that your rights under applicable law remain protected. Tribe is not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
